Cool...nice views. I would say the problem is on all the sides... Public and Police. EVERYONE should be aware of the signs, law and MUST have common sense. We dont care about starting 10 minutes early but we care if there is too much of traffic and we get delalyed. Do we give way to Ambulance. Do we follow lane system (even when there are lanes). Do we care about Police.
And now the Police. Great guys, i hate to be talking about them. There could be few police who are really good, but my general feeling and what i have seen are they are corrupt %(%*&%)(&*%. Few months back when i was in Hyderabad, a RTC bus came and hit my car just the middle and he is in the wrongway. That too just infront of Panjagutta station. And then i dont want to talk about what police (he was the CI) said. In the end, no one is at fault and that RTC driver &(*%^*&^ went away and i had to repair with my own expenses.
My feeling...these kind if issues cant be changed by a single person, but WE can make a difference. Lets see how can WE do this.

I miss Hyd, I really do. I think every Hyderabadi absolutely deserves the driving license they work so hard for. Who can get to anyplace anywhere in the city under 15 minutes like us, huh?

Good that they are at least constructing the foot over bridges. Otherwise it was a loose-loose situation.. While driving, you always have to be ready for some pedestrain running across your path and when you have to cross the road, you think of your LIC policy and etc..

Now I know how to cross the roads when I visit HYD next time ;)

It's to share with you the same agony I feel driving here in Hyderabad.Everyday I pray to GOD please save me so that I come back home today evening...
I came from Bangalore where the traffic jams and potholed roads has become a part and parcle of any Banglorean life.If you see in Bangalore even the most posh roads are not as well maintained as here in Hyderabad,but even then the number of traffic accidents in Hyderabad is the highest in India as per a TOI report.
I attribute these to a list of factors:
1. Negative Driving sense by any sort of vehicle driver--This road is mine I will go first leave others behind;pedestrians are like ants they will manage themsevles I won't stop for them.
2.Poor Traffic police management--They can be seen collecting fines only for petty issues as Not wearing a Helmet..But nothing for breaking the simple and fundamental rules as Jumping a signal or crossing a Yellow line(I feel no concept of Yellow lines crossing here)
3.Confusing Roads--No signboards even for showing the directions for a major road/area..
4.Lack of Footpaths/Zebra Crossings--From the strech of the Shoppers Stop flyover till the Lifestyle I find only one crossing..that's what we can say a drop in the desert..As I myself had to wait standing atleast for 10-15 mins just to cross the road from Shoppers Stop side to reach the Celebrity Hotel on the other side of the road..In the end I and even all others in sheer frustration used to cross the road barring any vehicle coming/not coming..

I feel the figures for number of accidents in Hyderabad is soon going to break a World record if this continues...Let's all pray we all reach Home tonight safely..GOD save us :-)

I agree Bangalore has not-so-broad roads as compared to Hyderabad/ Madras. But belive me, the driving sense is much better. Here its totally strange..
Anyway nothing can beat namma Madras where our cops who can intercept you down at the next signal in two Hyundai Accent cars!!
Anyways, Saw the new Hyundai Accent Cars of Chennai Police?

This city sucks both in terms of drivers driving sense and in-terms of infrastructure... If people dont have roads and what ever the corporation calls roads is jampacked coz no one wants to be the last, am i not right in driving on the footpath???

Excellent photographs and way you described the pathetic traffic scenario.In fact, in hyderabad, you can never take over from the right side.Ok! One funny incident, near patny signal, the cars were moving when there was a red signal and the moment it got green, all stopped and i was the only one who was in the middle of the crossing!I was totally perplexed and was waondering if i had gone color blind.
Hyderabad has got incredibly fantastic traffic sense where people drive less and talk over fone more, where people cross the as if they have come out for a evening walk and the cops- they are the sweetest creatures on earth.

Good job bharath! may be we can go for some more shooting and give the snaps to MCH.What you say?
